Zesty Chocolate Truffles

Everyone needs a delicious chocolate truffle recipe in their repertoire and this one might just be it! Thanks to our nutritionist Emma for putting this one together.

We’ve used our 99% Sugar-Free Baking Bits for a lower sugar option but you could use whatever chocolate you have on hand. Also, swapping out the butter and cream for coconut oil and coconut cream would be a dairy free alternative if your choccy was dairy-free. With loads of rolling and flavouring options too, the combinations are endless…

Chocolate Truffles

  • 200g Healtheries 99% Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Baking Bits
  • 200ml cream
  • 50g butter
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Cocoa powder, pistachio nuts, cacao nibs or coconut to roll (optional)

  1. Tip the chocolate bits into a large bowl. Put the cream and butter in a saucepan and heat gently until the butter is melted and the cream reaches simmering point. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate.
  2. Stir the chocolate and cream together until smooth and add the orange zest. Cool and chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
  3. To shape the truffles, dip a melon baller or teaspoon in hot water and scoop up balls of the mixture. Roll truffles in chosen coating and drop balls onto greaseproof paper.
  4. Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge.
